Biennial. Flowering stems 55-75 cm, stout, leafy at base. Leaves glaucous, margins scabrid. Inflorescence simple, dense. Bracts 20-30 mm, lanceolate to ovate. Fruiting pedicels 30-35 mm, jointed below or ± at the middle. Perianth segments 18-20 mm, white. Capsule subglobose, 11-12 mm long, 15-17 mm diam., depressed and ± retuse at apex and base. Fl.6. Dry open places, 1400-1450 m.
