Perennial, woody at base, 30-60 cm, greyish green, densely covered throughout with minute, adpressed, stellate hairs, eglandular. Stem terete, intricately branched. Basal leaves small, lanceolate, 3,5-10 x 0,8-1,7 cm, acute or mucronate, irregularly crenate-dentate; cauline numerous, linear-lanceolate to linear, entire. Inflorescence 5-15 cm, lax, simple, 5-20-flowered. Bracts linear-lanceolate to linear, acute, 2-5 mm. Pedicels 3-6 mm, ebracteolate. Calyx 2-3 mm, lobes lanceolate, acutish. Corolla yellow, 10-15 mm diam., with pellucid glands, sparsely stellate-hairy outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, filaments with whitish-yellow hairs, 2 anterior glabrous near apex. Capsule ovate to broadly ovate, 3,5-4 x 2-3 mm, stellate-tomentose, glabrescent. Fl. 6-8. Salt steppe and marshes, fallow fields, 960-1200 m.
