Biennial, 95-140 cm, densely adpressed white- or yellowish-pannose below, glabrescent and glabrous above, eglandular. Stem slender or robust, terete, branched above middle. Basal leaves lanceolate, 5-15 x 1,5-2,5 cm, entire, petiole 1-5 cm; cauline small. Inflorescence with numerous branches, forming broad panicle, with loosely arranged clusters of 1-2 flowers. Bracts small, lanceolate to triangular-ovate, acute. Pedicels to 7 mm. Calyx 2-3 mm, lobes linear, mucronate. Corolla yellow, 15-20 mm diam., with pellucid glands, glabrous outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, filaments with whitish-yellow wool, 2 anterior glabrous near apex. Capsule oblong-elliptic, 4-5 x 2,5 mm, glabrous. Fl. 5-6. Pinus brutia forest, c. 300 m.
