Perennial, 20-40 cm, finely adpressed greyish stellate-tomentose. Stem terete, simple or branched. Basal leaves oblong to linear-spathulate, 3-15 x 0,5-1,5 cm, entire, obtuse, petiole 2-5 cm; cauline similar but smaller. Inflorescence loose, simple or branched and forming broad panicle, with clusters of 1-6, mostly 2 flowers, rarely with stalked 3-flowered dichasium. Bracts lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, acute. Pedicels 7-15 mm. Calyx 4-7 mm, lobes spathulate or obovate-oblong, mucronate. Corolla yellow, 12-15 mm diam., without pellucid glands, with small stellate hairs outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, filaments with whitish-yellow wool, 2 anterior glabrous above. Capsule oblong to oblong-elliptic, 4,5-5,5 x 3-4 mm, stellate-tomentose, later glabrescent. Fl. 6. Bare hills and slopes.
