Suffrutescent perennial. Stems 25 cm or more, reddish, glabrous below, very sparingly glandular or glabrous above. Leaves lanceolate to broadly lanceolate, all except uppermost petiolate; lower with lamina 20-30 x 12-30 mm, undivided or with 1-2 free basal segments, terminal lobe ovate, crenate-dentate, lateral segments oblong to obovate, shallowly dentate to crenate. Inflorescence aphyllous; cymes 3-6-flowered, both lateral branches of dichasium developed; peduncles 9 mm, sparingly glandular. Alar pedicels 0.8 mm, ½ length of glabrous to sparingly glandular bracteoles. Corolla maroon, upper lobes purple, lower and laterals white to yellow, c. 6 mm. Stamens exserted; staminode linear-oblong to ovate-spathulate. Capsule globose, 3.3 x 3 mm, dark reddish-buff, mucronate to apiculate. Fl. 3-4. Shady limestone rocks, c. 600 m.
