Shrub 0.25-2 m. Stems much-branched, erect. Leaves linear-lanceolate, coriaceous, 10-20 x 1-3 mm, acute or mucronate. Flowers greenish-yellow; perianth lobes ovate-triangular, 1.5 mm; sterile stamens present in female flowers. Drupe red, globose, 5-8 mm. Fl. 4-7. Rocky limestone slopes, macchie, Pinus and Quercus woodland, castle walls, s.l.-500 m.
