Spinescent shrub with habit of Rhamnus Sect. Rhamnus. Leaves broadly elliptic, 8-12 x 4-6 mm, serrulate or entire, mucronate, pilose. Flowers in usually panicled spikes, greenish cream. Fruit black, edible. FI. 6-7. Shady limestone rocks and in macchie, 900 m.
