Plant divaricately branched, 5-20 cm, glaucous. Leaf laciniae linear-setaceous. Flowers involucrate. Sepals lavender-blue, ovate-orbicular, abruptly narrowed into a claw at least half as long as broad. Petals with upper lip acuminate-aristate, lower lip abruptly narrowed into linear-clavate horns. Follicles acutely keeled, densely tuberculate, short, with 1 abaxial nerve; styles 3-5 x longer than the fused follicles, 22-40 mm, spreading horizontally to form a rigid star. FI. 4-7. Banks, fields, s.I.-600 m.
