Woody climber. Stems striate or smooth, sometimes hairy when young. Leaves of long shoots usually temate, petioles twining; those of short shoots simple or rarely ternately divided, deeply toothed to almost entire, subcoriaceous, sparsely pilose. Flowers borne singly or in axillary fascicles, subtended by two connate, calyciform bracteoles borne just beneath the flower. Perianth segments cream, 16-25 mm, sericeous on the back. Anthers shorter than the winged, glabrous filaments. Styles plumose. Fl. 3-4. Scrub and macchie, s.I.-350 m.
