Plant 10-20 cm. Rhizome short, prostrate, densely covered with narrowly lanceolate, rufescent scales, with persistent rachises, fronds tufted, rachis shorter than lamina, polsihed, copper, covered at first with white woolly hairs. Lamina narrowly elliptic, 1-2- pinnate, ultimate pinnules broadly ovate, upper and lower surface densely covered with whitish filiform scales. Spores ripe 3? Dry, usually calcareous rocks, s.I.-300 m.
Mediterranean area S to Ethiopia and E to Afghanistan.
