Slender plant, 14.5-29 cm tall. Leaves oblong-ovate. Spike elongate and very lax, 3- to 7-flowered. Sepals 13-17 x 5.5-8 mm, mostly bi-coloured, main colour whitish, pink or green, lower half mostly tinged with red, spreading to slightly reflexed, dorsal sepal erect, oblong-ovate, with recurved margins. Petals 6.4 x 2.1-3.5 mm, ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, whitish, greenish, olive or pink , often pale yellow, with slightly undulate margin and shortly pubescent Labellum 8-11 x 10.5-13 mm, small, roundish with tapering point, slightly arched, weakly 3-lobed or undivided, light brown to reddish-brown, densely pubescent from shoulders to middle of lip; lateral margins strongly reflexed, so that from above labellum appears triangular. Protuberances ± absent. Speculum with 2 parallel stripes, connected in upper part of lip, steel-blue or reddish-blue, often with a pale narrow margin. Appendix very small, yellow to yellowish-brown and pointed, projecting downwards. Connective ± long and pointed. Fl. 3-5. Phryguos; grassy macchie, open pinewoods, scrub; on dry calcareous soils, s.l.-650m.
