Annual. Stem slender, erect, 20-40 cm, usually branched above into a lax panicle of attenuate, ± monochasial cymes. Leaves lanceolate, 10-23 x 2-3,3 mm, thin, stiff, acute or acuminate, with a strong median and 2 obscure lateral nerves, margin scabrid, Pedicels spreading-erect in fruit. Sepals ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, 6-8 mm, glandular-margined. Petals blue, 15-16 mm. Stigmas capitate. Capsule 5-6 mm. Fl. 4-5. Rocky serpentine and calcareous slopes, and in Pinus brutia forest, 50-400 m.
