Suffrutescent perennial. Stems erect, 15-50 cm, branching into lax cymes. Leaves linear, 10-20 x 0.5-1 mm, stiff, very acute, stoutly 1-nerved, scabrid-margined, conferted and subtriquetrous below. Sepals 6-7 mm, ovate, tapering into a long point, margined by stalked glands, strongly 1-nerved. Petals 12-15 mm, lilac, pink or white. Stigmas capitate. Capsule 4 mm. Fl. 6. Calcareous slopes and screes, steppe, bushy slopes and open pine forest, 200-1700 m.
