Dwarf perennial with short, slender, rosuliferous rhizomes. Flowering stems 0,5-1,5 cm, 1-flowered. Leaves of numerous sterile rosettes and of the rosette at base of flowering stems small, broadly spathulate, obtuse, 1-nerved, tapering into a petiole, glaucous, only 3-8 mm x 1,2-2 mm. Cauline leaves linear-spathulate, 6-7 mm. Sepals lanceolate, 6-7 mm, blackish, with an extremely narrow membranous ciliate margin. Petals yellow, c. 18 mm. Capsule unknown. Fl. 6-7. Limestone and serpentine ,screes, 1700-2200 m.
