Perennial, 20-55 cm, ascending-erect, simple or little-branched, shortly adpressed-tomentose below, sparsely lanate and glabrescent above. Middle cauline leaves oblong, 2-5 x 0.5-2.5 cm, obtuse or mucronate, shortly petiolate or sessile, finely crenate-denticulate. Verticillasters 4-11, 6-10-flowered, all 25 cm distant or uppermost crowded. Middle bracts with spreading eglandular and shorter glandular hairs, triangular to orbicular, 1-2.5 x 1-1.5 cm, with acumen 2-4 mm. Calyx 9-11 mm, with dense indumentum of eglandular hairs interspersed with ± numerous glands, teeth 3-4.5 mm, with mucro 0.5-1 mm. Corolla yellow, 11-14 mm, hairy and with brown markings inside. 2n = 32. Fl. 7-8. Rocky slopes, c. 1900 m
Endemic. E. Medit. element. Allied to S. condensata and S. congesta.
