Differs from P. vulgaris by its hispid indumentum, narrower, elliptic to lanceolate, subentire to weakly laciniate leaves, lower lip of calyx often more deeply divided, teeth broader, and longer , lilac or violet corolla. Fl. 5-7. Streamsides, Pinus forest, damp grassy places, nr s.l.-1400 m.
