Shrub to 150 cm, eglandular. Leaves densely adpressed ± yellowish stellate-tomentose, especially beneath, longer undivided hairs absent; lower cauline leaves small, oblong-lanceolate, ± cordate at base, crenulate, 2-5 x 0.7-2 cm, shortly petiolate. Floral leaves shortly petiolate, often larger and broader, cordate, about as long as verticillasters. Verticillasters 1-2, 6-12-flowered. Braeteoles linear-lanceolate, densely spreading white-lanate, 8-11 x 1-2 mm. Calyx 10-12 mm, densely white-lanate, teeth to 1 mm, triangular-subulate. Corolla yellow, 25-30 mm. Nutlets glabrous. Fl. 5-8. Macchie, Quercus scrub, Pinus brutia forest, serpentine cliffs, s.l.-900 m.
