Shrub to 130 cm, adpressed grey-tomentose. Leaves shortly stellate-tomentose above, white-stellate-tomentose beneath, lower ones elliptic, lanceolate-ovate or lanceolate, truncate or cuneate at base, 3-9 x 2-3 cm, entire or crenulate, petiole to 4 cm. Floral leaves sessile or petiolate, mostly lanceolate, obtuse. Verticillasters 1-2, 14-36-flowered. Bracteoles obovate or broadly lanceolate, acuminate, 10-20 x 3-7 mm, with numerous short stellate and longer undivided weak hairs. Calyx 10-20 mm, densely stellate-lanate, not ciliate, teeth 1-3.5 mm, subulate. Corolla yellow, 23-35 mm. Nutlets glabrous or pubescent. Fl. 4-7. Rocky limestone slopes, s.l.-1000 m,
