Shrub to 150 cm. Leaves greenish, glandular-puberulent.with loose stellate indumentum above, densely greyish or whitish stellate-tomentose beneath, lower leaves triangular-ovate to oblong-lanceolate, cordate at base, crenate-serrate, 3-16 x 1.5-6 cm, petiole to 5 cm. Floral leaves triangular-ovate-lanceolate, shortly petiolate, to 2 x verticillasters. Verticillasters 1-2, 12-20- flowered. Bracteoles subulate, densely long hispid-viscid, 12-17 x 0.75-1.5 mm. Calyx sessile, 17-20 mm, densely hispid-viscid, teeth subulate, 37 mm. Corolla yellow, 20-30 mm. Nutlets glabrous. Fl. 4-8. Macchie, Quercus scrub, Pinus woods, calcareous and serpentine rocks, s.l.-1000 m.
