Corm tunic subcoriaceous. splitting longitudinally and circumscissile at base. Leaves c.5, very shortly developed at flowering time, c. 1 mm wide. Prophyll absent. Bracteole present, subequal to bract. Throat of perianth yellow, glabrous; segments equal or subequal, 30-32 x 9-11 mm, lanceolate, obtuse, the inside lilac-blue with dark veins, the outside of the outer three segments suffused cream, each with 3 dark lines, the median line almost reaching the tip. Filaments c. 8 mm long, filiform, yellow; anthers c. 13 mm long, blackish-maroon before dehiscence, pollen yellow. Style divided into 3 long, bright red branches, each branch 1.5-1.6 cm long, slender, only slightly thickened at the apex and subdivided into 2 or 3 short lobes up to 3 mm long, much exceeding the anthers. Fl. 10-11. Crevices of limestone rocks, edge of Pinus woodland, 10-500 m.
