Stems 25-75 cm, erect from a rooting and branching base, glabrous. Leaves 13-32 mm, ovate to elliptic-ovate, densely reticulate, usually concolorous, glabrous, without intramarginal glands. Inflorescence narrowly pyramidal to cylindric or spicate, many-flowered. Sepals ± narrowly oblong to elliptic, acute to obtuse, black-glandular-ciliate or -denticulate. Petals 10-14 mm. Capsule 5-6 mm, narrowly ovoid. FI. 7-8. Marshy ground and by streams, 1100-2850 m.
