Stems c. 20-70 cm, erect from a woody, sometimes branching and rooting base, wandlike, ± shrubby, glabrous, with ascending axillary branches. Leaves 2-12 mm, oblong to elliptic or oblanceolate, often revolute, glaucous below, with conspicuous intiamarginal glands and sometimes one large terminal black gland. Inflorescence corymbose, 1-c. 12-flowered, sometimes several forming a pyramidal panicle. Sepals elliptic to oblong, obtuse to rounded, black-glandular-denticulate. Petals 5-13 mm. Capsule 5-8 mm, narrowly ovoid. Fl. 6-10. Pinus woods, macchie and rocky places, 120-600 m.
