Sparingly adpressed-pubescent to glabrescent, mainly branched from base; stems prostrate to erect, 5-40 cm. Stipules lanceolate-subulate, entire to dentate. Leaflets linear-oblong or oblong to obovate, denticulate ± round about, 5-25 x 2-8 mm. Peduncle 1-5 cm. Inflorescence many-flowered, forming a dense ovate to oblong headlike raceme. Calyx campanulate, 4-4,5 mm; teeth linear-lanceolate, unequal, longer teeth about as long as tube. Corolla yellow, 5-6 mm. Legumes deflexed, ovate-oblong with a hooked beak, compressed, hirsute, reticulate-nerved, 1-2-seeded, with beak 6-10 x 2,5-3 mm, forming dense oblong to cylindrical racemes. Seeds elliptic, 2,5-3 x 1,5-2 mm, finely tubercled. Fl. 4-6. Pinus forest, oak scrub, chalky hills, fallow fields, s.l.-1250 m.
