Perennial with erect, slender, striated stems, 60-120 cm. Leaves distant with 5-7 pairs of narrow elliptic leaflets, 10-12 x 3-4 mm, with an adpressed pilose indumentum denser on lower surface; stipules white, scarious, c. 6 mm. Peduncles clearly longer than the leaves. Inflorescence many-flowered, lax. Calyx pilose, c. 5 mm with teeth c. 2 x length of tube. Corolla rose with deeper striations; standard c. 8 mm; wings c. 2 mm; keel c. 6 mm. Fruit 6-7 mm long, suborbicular, adpressed pilose with a crest of 5-6 broad, triangular spiny teeth and with shorter spines on the disc. Fl. 5-6. Steppe, c. 1200 m.
