Perennial with several simple, ascending stems up to 15 cm, branched in region of inflorescence, glabrous below, above with a dense indumentum of long glandular hairs. Leaves elliptic or obovate, acute, narrowed below, subsessile, c. 2 x 1 cm. Inflorescence condensed. Pedicels erect, c. 1 mm. Calyx obovate, narrowed at base, 6 mm, with linear teeth recurved at apex, length of calyx. Petals slightly longer than calyx, entire, linear. Ovary c. 8-ovulate, borne on a carpophore. Capsule ovoid, slightly longer than calyx, sessile. FI. 6-7. Pine woods, c. 1200 m.
