Like M. anatolica but densely and finely pubescent throughout, sametimes velutinous, or inflorescence glaucous, usually 10-30 cm; inflorescenee of 1 or a few compact 10-20-flowered clusters; bracts linear-lanceolate to lanceolate; sepals 4-6 mm, usually linear-lanceolate with a broad membranous margin running to the apex; petals very much shorter to almost as long as sepals. Fl. 6-8. Stony pasture, 1100-1900 m.
