Glandular-pubescent annual. Stems decumbent to erect, up to 30 cm. Leaves ovate-oblong, the lower somewhat petiolate, pilose. Inflorescence lax, many-flowered. Bracts with ± the upper half scarious. Pedicels sharply refracted in fruit. Sepals very narrowly lanceolate, acute, 3-5 mm, with scarious margins, glandular-pubescent. Petals as long as or somewhat shorter than the sepals, glabrous, with unbranched veins. Capsule up to 2 x longer than the sepals, teeth with revolute margins. FI. 4-5.

Throughout Europe, Cyprus, Lebanon, Caucasia, N. Iran.
