Height 4,5-10 cm, leaves usually present in fruit, 8-19 x 2-8 mm. Inflorescence hemispherical, often exceeded by the uppermost leaves and lower bracts. Bracts herbaceous, ± conspicuous, 5-10 x 1-2 mm, glabrous or shortly setose on the margins, mostly free. Flowers bluish. Calyx absent. Fruit smooth, c. 2 x 1-5 mm. Fl. 5-6. Rocky places, woodland, 1300-1600 m.
