Annual with pubescent and strigose stems, reflexed-strigose below, spreading strigose above. Leaves lanceolate, entire, becoming linear towards top of stem. Peduncles glandular-hairy. Involucral bracts 5-9, lanceolate, pilose and glandular-hairy, erect, forming a cylindrical involucre. Capitula 5-10-flowered, radiant; corolla reddish-purple. Involucel 5-6 mm, villous, with 15-20 tiny teeth at apex. Calyx with 12-16 setae. FI. 5-6.
