Shortly hairy, monocarpic with fertile leaf rosette and sterile shoots. Stem erect, 60 cm, 2-4 mm diam. At base, simple, rarely branched. Basal leaves corate to ovate, obtusely crenate, especially hairy on nerves, 2,5-3 cm, petiola 5 cm; cauline similar, usually smaller, with short petiole. Flowers in clusters of 2-5 in a dense spicate inflorescence, sessile or shortly pedicellate. Ovary conical, glabrous. Calyx lobes narrowly linear, 2-3 x 0,5-1 mm, spreading, recurved after anthesis. Corolla broadly infundibular, light blue, 8-10 mm diam., divided to ½-2/3, lobes triangular, 2 mm broad at base. Style long exserted. Stigmas 3, elongate. Capsule semiglobose, 4-5 x 3-4 mm, opening by 3 ± median pores. Seeds ellipsoide, 0,8 x 0,3-0,4 mm, red-brown, shiny. Fl. 5-8. Limestone rocks, open forests, scrub, 700-2050 m.
