Unbranched perennial, stems ascending-erect, c. 12 cm, sulcate, 3 mm diam, at base, glabrous. Leaves forming basal rosettes, linear, 30-50 x 1-2 mm, irregularly and minutely denticulate, retrorsely ciliolate and long-ciliate. Cauline and floral leaves similar but smaller, long-ciliate. Inflorescence a dense, many-flowered spike; flowers in clusters of 2-3, sessile or shortly pedicellate. Pedicels 1 mm. Bracts linear, c. 3 mm, glabrous or ciliate at base. Calyx lobes erect, linear-lanceolate, 4-5 mm, glabrous. Corolla lobes linear, 11-12 x 1.5 mm, colour unknown. Ovary ellipsoid, 3-4 x 1.5-2 mm, subapically constricted, glabrous; style 11-12 mm, exserted from corolla; stigmas 3, c. 1.5 mm. Capsule opening by 3 apical pores. Fl. 6. Pinus forest, scree, 2000m.
