Annual herb, 15-40 cm, usually simple-stemmed, occasionally branched from base, often violet at base. Basal leaves oblong with short petioles. Stem leaves oblong-ovate, apex obtuse, shortly mucronate, deeply cordate-amplexicaul. Sepals ± equal, not saccate, linear. Petals, c. 6 x 1,5-2 mm, pale yellow or white, oblong. Stamens more or less equal. Stigma capitate. Fruiting pedicels 5-15 mm. Siliqua strongly compressed, sub-erect, torulose 4,5-9 cm x 1-2 mm, without nerves. Seeds papillose, brown. Cotyledons subconduplicate. Fl. 3-5. Rocky slopes, c. 1000 m.
