Annual, stems up to 20 cm. Indumentum of sublepidote stellate hairs with many short rays. Racemes elongate and cylindrical. Pedicels suberect to spreading and horizontal, with strigose indumentum. Petals 2-3 x 0.5-1 mm, entire or emarginate, pale yellow. Fruits ovate to orbicular, emarginate, glabrous, 2.5-4 mm long and wide; valves equally inflated at the centre, with ± flattened margins. Style glabrous, 0.4-1 mm. Seeds narrowly winged.
1. Plant erect or decumbent; racemes elongate, 4-10 cm, many-fruited; leaves linear-lanceolate to oblanceolate var. desertorum 
1. Plant prostrate, reduced; racemes condensed, 1-2 cm, few-fruited; leaves oblanceolate to spathulate var. prostratum
