Densely white-hispid biennial or perennial, stems several, 25-60 cm. Basal leaves lanceolate-spathulate, lamina 50-120 x 5-15 mm; cauline narrowly oblong-linear. Inflorescence loosely paniculate, cymes terminal and axillary. Fruiting pedicels subequalling calyx. Calyx 3·5-4 mm. Corolla violet-purple, 5-6 mm, campanulate-cylindrical, limb and tube subequal. Scales trapeziform. Style 3 mm. Nutlets cup-shaped, ovoid or oblong-ovoid, 7-8 mm, disc smooth or with a few spinules on keel; wing broad, incurved, its margin denticulate, teeth in 2 rows. Fl. 5-6. Steep eroded igneous S.-facing slopes, 1150-1830 m.
