Perennial, with stout woody stock. Stem simple, 25-40 cm, velutinous and hispid, clothed at base with remains of petiole-bases. Leaves adpressed-setose and velutinous, linear-lanceolate to linear-elliptic, basal attenuate into c. 4 em petiole, lamina 10-15 x 0·8-1·3 em; cauline sessile, decurrent. Inflorescence dense, 6-12 cm diam. Calyx 15-20 mm in flower, to 30 mm in fruit, divided to base, lacking gibbous projections, lobes obtuse. Corolla yellow, 35-45 mm; tube sparsely pubescent outside, 30-40 mm, annulus absent, limb ·12-16 mm diam., unspotted. Stamens inserted in a whorl. Nutlets 4-5 mm, depressed-ovoid, greenish-brown, tuberculate-rugose, with ventral keel. Fl. 5-8. Cliffs, rock ledges, rocky limestone and igneous slopes, 750-2600 m.
