Plants 60-70 cm. Basal leaves up to 30 cm; cauline leaves greyish, 5-15 cm, pinnatisect, oblong-oblanceolate in outline, coarsely serrate, glandular and pubescent on both surfaces; segments oblong, 4-7-paired, 1-3,5 x 0,4-1 cm, broadly acute or obtuse at apex. Capitula numerous, in terminal corymbs. Involucre 4-5 mm broad; phyllaries linear to oblanceolate, 2,5-4 x 0,5-1 mm, pubescent, pale-margined, inner acute, membranous. Ligules c. 8, white, 2 x 1,5 mm, ovate, entire or shallowly lobed at apex. Disc flowers 2 mm. Achenes brownish, 1-1,5 mm, 4-5-ribbed; corona somewhat unevenly margined, c. 0,2 mm. Fl. 6-8. Quercus woods shady banks, and metamorphic valleys, 550-1800m.
