Rootstock thickly woody, much branched from base and forming a rounded dwarf shrub about 15 cm tall, older shoots woody with greyish bark, young shoots 5-7 cm, closely and densely greyish-tomentose with short medifixed hairs. Leaves simple, obovate-spathulate, 1-2,5 x 0,3-7,5 cm, obtuse, subacute or  shallowly 3-5-toothed at apex, attentuate at base, densely adpressed-tomentose on both surfaces. Capitula solitary on 15-18 cm flowering stems, bearing 3-4 leaves near base. Involucre 1-1,5 cm broad; outer phyllaries ovate, 3-4 mm, ± densely lanate, inner oblong-lanceolate, 5-6 mm, almost non-scarious. Ray flowers c. 30, white; ligules 8-10 x 3,5-4 mm. Disc flowers 3,5-4 mm. Achenes c. 3 mm, 8-ribbed; corona an uneven rim c. 0,2 mm. Fl. 6-7. On limestone cliffs and rocks.
