Erect greyish-pubescent annual. Stems ± branched from base, 15-30 cm. Leaves 2-3 cm , ovate in outline, 2-3-pinnatisect into oblanceolate, acute, lobes c. 0,5 mm broad. Capitula radiate; peduncles becoming thickened and arcuate. Involucre 0,75-1,25 cm broad; inner phyllaries oblanceolate with broad, brown obtuse scarious apices. Receptacle broadly conical; paleae oblanceolate, rather abruptly and shortly acuminate. Ray flowers c. 15; ligules 0,65-1 cm. Disc corollas c. 3 mm, not inflated at maturity. Achenes squarish in section, 2-2,5 mm, almost smooth, outer with short opaque c. 0,25 mm auricles, inner exauriculate. Fl. 4-6. Vineyards and disturbed calcareous slopes, 400-1230 m.
