Height 60-100 cm. Stems terete, obtuse-angled, loosely adpressed-pilose, ± glabrescent. Leaves green, ± densely adpressed-hairy, glandular-dotted; basal and lower cauline oblong, 10-20 x 3-7 cm, without or with petiole up to 5 cm, pinnatipartite with 10-15 pairs of oblong to lanceolate, lobed or dentate-serrate segments; upper cauline smaller and less divided. Capitula 50-300 and more, corymbs 4-10 cm broad, peduncles 2-8 mm. Involucre obovoid to oblong, 3.5-5 x 2.5-3.5 mm. Outer phyllaries linear-setaceous to linear-lanceolate, acute, inner lanceolate, subacute to obtuse, not marginate, sparsely hairy and glandular-dotted. Ligules 2-4, gold, 0.7-1 mm; disc flowers 15-30. Fl. 6-8. Edge of streams and lakes, meadows, rocky slopes, 1300-1750 m.
