Tubers not seen. Leaves linear-elliptic, 7-18 x 1-2 cm, apex obtuse, base very gradually attenuate into 6-18 cm petiole; lateral veins 2-3 per side, soon becoming subparallel; margin flat or slightly undulate. Scape 1.5-4 cm. Tube of spathe cylindrical, 4-7 cm, margins ± fused throughout, greenish-purple or pinkish outside, purplish-brown within; lamina erect,  lanceolate, gradually  tapered towards apex, 9-13 x 1.2-1.8 cm, greenish outside, deep brown-purple inside. Spadix 14.5-22 cm, slightly longer than spathe; female zone hemispherical, 3 mm; sterile flowers in two zones above and below male zone, lower sterile zone 21-23 mm, upper 13-16 mm, sterile flowers adpressed-erect, 1-2 mm; male zone 8-15 mm. Appendix 9·16 cm x 1.6-3 mm, slightly bent or hooked at extreme apex, not stipitate. Fl. 4-6. Limestone slopes, cliffs, rocky macchie, roadsides, Ficus orchards, 30-600 m.
