Stems to 3 m, slender, terete, twining, branched, glabrous below, sometimes puberulent above. Leaves glabrous, ovate to triangular-ovate, 2·5-10 x 1·5-8cm; apex subacute, base deeply cordate to sagittate; petioles 1-7 cm. Cymes few- to many-flowered; peduncles 5-10 cm, pubescent. Corolla white or pinkish, 6-9 mm diam., lobes oblong, obtuse. Follicles 6-16 x 1 cm, acuminate, glabrous, or puberulent when young. Fl. 6-9. Sandy saline places, rocky slopes, rive; banks, fallow fields, vineyards, roadsides, s.I.-1500 m.
