Annual, 20-60 cm, erect, moderately branched. Leaves 4-10 cm long, 2-4 mm broad, ± linear. Rays 3-4, unequal, 2,5-20 mm. Bracts 3,7-20 mm. Bracteoles 5, ± broadly elliptic to ovate, acute to obtuse, with a mucro 0,5 mm or less, 6-12 mm, 5-veined with strong, anastomosing veinlets, non-herbaceous, yellowish at flowering, later pale with purplish veins. Petals yellow, 0,6-0,8 mm, inflexed lobe long, broad, bifid. Anthers 0,45 mm. Stylopodium 1,1-1,4 mm, styles 0,5-0,8 mm. Fruit 2,2 mm or larger, smooth, ridges filiform, light. Fl. 4-6. Steppe, desert, banks and rocks, 300-1500 m.
