Bulb ovoid, 0.7–1.2 × 1–1.5 cm; outer tunics membranous, brown, ± breaking into parallel fibres; inner tunics membranous, white; bulblets rarely present. Stem 35–50 cm long, erect, often purplish flushed at anthesis. Leaves 2–3, flat, densely scabrid, shorter than scape; leaf sheath up to ½ of stem. Umbel globose–subglobose, 1.5–3 cm diameter, dense, 30–70 flowered. Spathe 1-valved, caducous. Pedicels scabrid, unequal, not elongating in fruiting stage; up to 1–1.5 × perigone; bracteoles present, clustered externally at the base of outer pedicels, 5–10 mm long. Perigone ovoid, urceolate; tepals whitish green with darker green midveins; 5–6 × 2.5–3.5 mm, obovate, scabrid especially in the upper part and loosely bearded in the upper part, outer tepals obtuse to acute at apex; inner tepals obtuse at apex. Stamens exserted; filaments ciliate at base; inner filaments 5.5–6.5 × 1.5–2 mm; median cusps 1–1.5 mm long; lateral cusps distinctly 2–3 × median cusps; basal lamina 4.5–5.5 mm long, 3–5 × median cusps. Anthers 1.5–2 mm, yellow. Pistil 7–9 mm long; style 3–4 mm long, projected above from perigone; ovary 4–5 × 1.5–2 mm, oblong–ovoid, scabrid at upper half. Capsule 4 × 3.5 mm, ovoid; valves emarginate–bilobate at apex; seed 3 × 1.5 mm, black.
