Bulb ovoid, c. 1 cm diam.; outer tunics membranous. Stem 6-12 cm, covered with leaf sheaths for more than ½ its length. Leaves 2, semiterete, 1-2 mm broad, slightly channelled above, attenuate at tip, recurved, longer than stem. Valves of spathe triangular-lanceolate, acute, reflexed, as long as pedicels. Umbel fastigiate-hemispherical, 2-2.5 cm diam. Pedicels 5-7 mm, subequal. Perianth campanulate; segments-deep rose-purple or mauvish pink, ovate-oblong, 6-7 mm, very obtuse. Filaments subulate-attenuate, slightly longer than perianth. Capsule c. 6 mm. Fl. 8. Stony mountain slopes, mob-ile and semi-mobile screes, among very sparse saxatile vegetation, 2440-2775 m.
