 Suffruticose, decumbent or ascending, much-branched perennial. Stems ashy-canescent when young, becoming glabrescent, stout, with grey to orange bark. Leaves very fleshy, the petiole resembling the leaflets. Leaflets 4-8 x 2-3 mm, ± terete, oblong or elliptic, occasionally obovate, obtuse, with canescent indumentum. Flowers solitary in the axils of leaves, ± sessile at anthesis. Sepals 2-3 mm, canescent. Petals white, spathulate, 3-4 mm. Capsule star-shaped, 5-7 x 5-6 mm, deeply 5-lobed, the carpels free for about the upper, and with 1-2 seeds, the central axis persisting after the carpels have fallen. Dunes, salt-flats, etc.
