Shrub or small tree to 3 m, glabrous and glaucous. Leaves long-petiolate, lamina to 10 x 4 cm, ovate to elliptic. Calyx tubular, 8-12 mm, upper part glandular-pubescent, teeth acuminate. Corolla yellow, tubular, glandular-pubescent, 30-38 mm, limb 5-7 mm diam. Capsule ellipsoid, 8-12 mm. Fl. 5-8. Waste places, roadsides, ditches. Naturalized or grown as ornament.
Native of S. America, probably extending its range in Turkey.
