Greyish green perennial, with numerous erect to ascending flowering shoots. Vegetative shoots usually absent. Stems 20-50 cm, often less branched than A. stricta , quadrangular, glabrous or scabrid below. Leaves ± erect, basal to 4 x 1 mm, lanceolate to oblong, cauline 4-30 x 0.4-1.4 mm, linear to filiform, acute to shortly mucronate, with distinctly revolute margins, scabrid to glabrous. Inflorescence with erect to somewhat patent branches; partial inflorescences corymbiform. Bracts 1-2.5 mm, lanceolate-acuminate, glabrous. Flowers sessile or with to 0.8 mm pedicels. Corolla pale pink to white, 4-6 mm, narrowly infundibular to hypocrateriform, with 1-1.5 mm, ± spreading lobes, verruculose outside. Mericarps 1.75-2.2 mm, papillose. Fl. 6-8. Slopes and dry stony grassland on hills, s.l. 1300 m.
