Stem erect, 1-2 m. Leaves 2-3-pinnate; leaflets ovate to ovate-lanceolate, 5-10 x 2-4 cm, doubly incised-serrate or sometimes lobed, glabrous or very sparsely pubescent; petioles up to 20 cm. Panicles up to 50 cm. Flowers 2,5-5 mm diam., petals 5; male with 20-30, triseriate stamens; female with 3 glabrous carpels and abortive stamens. Follicles drooping, brown. Fl. 6-7. Scrub and forests, mostly along streams and amongst rocks, s.l.-2000 m.
