Stem up to 22 cm, with a few subdichotomous ascending branches, adpressed-pubescent. Leaf laciniae linear, acute. Racemes few-flowered, subcorymbose, loose. Bracts mostly entire, lower sometimes trisect. Bracteoles reaching beyond the base of the flower, persistent. Flowers violet-blue , 15-18 mm. Spur about ½ as long as posterior sepal. Corolla subtrilobed, base cuneate, lateral lobes horizontal, ± triangular. Perianth subpersistent. Follicles oblong, adpressed-strigulose, pointing downwards on refracted pedicels. Fl. 6-7. In corn and fallow fields, 600-c. 1000 m.
