Perennial with a slender woody stock. Stems prostrate, green like the leaves. Ochreae hyaline, 3-nerved, conspicuous, longer than or as long as the internodes specimens). Leaves oblong-elliptic, petiolate, often slightly mucronate. Flowers in fascicles in the leafaxils. Perianth pinkish, 4-5 mm, hardening and accrescent in fruit. Nut glossy, included in the perianth.
